Best Practices:
  • Nice use of interactive filters
  • Great layout
  • Bikini chart works well as a histogram
  • Consistent use of colors across the various charts
  • Line charts are clear and easy to understand
  • Providing two sections makes comparisons easy; in this example, Global and China are being compared
Recommended Enhancements:
  • Title should have the proper capitalization
  • Move the instructions to the subtitle so they are more obvious
  • Using pink for females and blue for males makes sense in the USA, but not necessarily in all countries; avoid stereotypical colors unless they are universal
  • Use consistent axis scales on the line charts; the labels should be to the same number of decimals
  • Only show the axis labels on the line charts every five years
  • Use a consistent font
  • Fix the typo in the headers for the bikini charts; it should be "and" instead of "ans"
